El Faro de Punta Canoa y el burro grosero

¿Conoces el Faro Marítimo en Punta Canoa? me preguntó José Carlos, le respondí: -dame este fin de semana y te cuento- así fue, fuimos al corregimiento de Punta Canoa, a 16 kilómetros de Cartagena, por posición geográfica esta zona es un cabo llamado Punta Canoa donde está el corregimiento que lleva su mismo nombre, bellos paisajes y grandes proyectos inmobiliarios se vislumbran allí.
El Faro de Punta Canoa es fundamental para la navegación marítima en Cartagena, tiene una altura de 14 metros, en lo alto de una montaña, su luz llega a verse hasta a 11 millas náuticas (21 kilómetros). No soy ingeniero, pero creo que está en riesgo de caerse porque alguien le socavó alrededor de la base. Avanzamos desde el pueblo en una trocha en mal estado, hay una parte llena de cráteres, cosa que me encanta para poner a prueba el sistema de tracción de la camioneta, el camino conduce a una playa solitaria, inmensa y agreste, regresamos por donde mismo ingresamos hasta el punto de acceso al faro, dicho faro es administrado por la Dirección General Marítima y Portuaria (DIMAR). Dejamos la camioneta en la trocha e ingresamos caminando unos 300 metros en ascenso, encontramos una veta de fósiles marinos de millones de años que la lluvia expuso. La zona es el típico bosque seco tropical, muchas aves y vegetación espesa. Allí, encontré una enredadera que no he podido identificar, el fruto y la hermosa flor son parecidas al maracuyá, posiblemente es una variante de la Passiflora incarnata, que es más conocida.
Al llegar al faro, queda uno maravillado con el paisaje, acantilados, playas vírgenes, una vista en 360 grados donde se ve la inmensidad del océano. Nos tomamos tiempo para contemplarlo, hasta pude imaginarme una escena de novela como en el libro: “Cumbres Borrascosas” de Emily Brontë, donde Cathe en una noche tormentosa cerca al acantilado, con su vestido ventoso gritaba un largo: Heathcliff, su amado, mientras el Faro de Flamborough Head competía con la luz de las centellas.
Este recorrido puede ser turístico por lo hermoso y agreste porque son evidentes las falencias en el pueblo. Espero que los turistas no se topen con el “burro grosero”, veníamos conversando sobre la experiencia que acabábamos de vivir, cuando un burro sogueado se paró frente a la camioneta, no era el típico leñero, cabizbajo, orejas caídas y triste; este era un burro altivo, con su cabeza en alto, orejas puntiagudas, brioso y en actitud arrogante, como de buscapleitos, me dije; este burro me va joder el carro…dicho y hecho, tiró como a morder, empecé a dar reversa, como estaba sogueado sabía que no tenía mucho alcance, me persiguió hasta que se dio la vuelta, se impulsó con las patas delanteras y soltó una patada fuerte, parecía un rayo y por poco parte las farolas de mi vehículo, ¡Hijueputa burro este! se cree un caballo salvaje, la verdad sea dicha y sin pena: un solo burro hizo retroceder a 250 caballos de fuerza de la Ford Bronco.
Ahora sí, José Carlos, no sólo conocí el Faro de Punta Canoa sino también al “Burro grosero”. Pese a que, me puso en correndillas, hizo graciosa la maravillosa aventura.
