Almes Granados, el Rey de Reyes del 55 Festival Vallenato.
Perteneciente a la dinastía Granados, una de las más destacadas del folclor por su nota sentida, raizal y tradicional, Almes Granados se alzó con la corona de Rey de Reyes del Festival de la Leyenda Vallenata, en la velada final donde se le rindió homenaje a Jorge Oñate.
Almes Granados, oriundo del corregimiento de Mariangola ( Valledupar ) fue Rey Vallenato en 2011, es hermano de Ovidio Granados, uno de los técnicos de acordeones más representativos de la región, quien además es bastión de esta dinastía y ocupó en cuatro ocasiones el segundo lugar en este certamen, tío de Hugo Carlos Granados, que ostenta cuatro títulos (rey aficionado, rey profesional, rey de reyes aficionado y rey de reyes profesional) y de Juan José (rey profesional).
El Rey de Reyes se presentó la noche final con sus compañeros Adelmo Granados Melo y José Bornacelly Polo en la caja y la guacharaca, con quienes interpretó el paseo ‘El pobrecito’ de Ovidio Granados: el merengue: ‘El vicio’ de Ovidio Granados; el sin ‘Un verdadero juglar’ de Almes Granados y la puya ‘Lo dijo Juancho ‘ de Juan Manuel Polo Cervantes.
Los finalistas demostraron su experticia al ejecutar el acordeón quedando en segundo lugar el boyacense Julián Mojica y el tercer lugar fue para Ciro Antonio Meza.
